Building Management System for Centralized Monitoring
Today, large parts of the municipality’s building portfolio are connected to Regin’s Arrigo Building Management System, enabling the operations team to monitor and manage the buildings centrally. Through visualization, the team can quickly gain an overview of both energy consumption and indoor climate conditions.
“By creating floor plans and dashboards in Arrigo BMS, the property owner can easily get a comprehensive overview of the entire building portfolio while also monitoring the indoor climate in individual zones,” says Frans Lemark at INUstyr.
Behind the centralized monitoring system are Regin’s freely programmable EXOclever and EXOcompact controllers, which enable integration between different systems and provide a high degree of flexibility.
“Thanks to the open protocols supported by the freely programmable controllers, the solution enables third-party integration. For example, the system communicates with air handling units via Modbus and collects measurement data from external energy meters via M-Bus. This gives us an integrated solution where data from different technical systems can be brought together on a common platform,” says Frans.
Modern Room Control at Ronneby Town Hall
When part of Ronneby Town Hall was due for renovation, INUstyr chose to install Regio RCX room controllers for demand-controlled regulation of temperature and CO₂ levels. A total of 15 controllers were installed, replacing an older system.
An important part of the project was simplifying installation and commissioning. Using the Regin app, the devices could be configured directly on site via Bluetooth.
“Previously, we had to configure each individual device before installation. With Regin, we were instead able to commission the controllers directly on site. This made the installation process more efficient while also making it easier to monitor values and adjust settings directly in the app,” Frans explains.
Looking ahead, the municipality sees significant potential to install more Regio RCX controllers, particularly as part of future renovation and retrofit projects where older systems are gradually modernized.
“By controlling the indoor climate based on how the rooms are actually being used, we can create both greater comfort and more energy-efficient building operations. We see considerable potential in this going forward,” Frans concludes.
