Software updates made in Regio Midi 1.7-1-03:

• Restoration of CO2 control function to control between an Min/Max value
• Digital input can be used as an external input as an indication
• The BACnet variable for enabling/disabling buttons (RegioButtonActiveConf) has been removed since the Regio BACnet stack only support 8 states and this variable is now more than 8
• When a window contact indicates an open window, the VAV damper go to the set MIN limit for Off state.
• Minor Application tool updates to promote versatility and stability

The software update of the Regio Ardo series consists of several new, requested features and improvements particularly suitable for hotels and offices. Some of the most prominent features are a communication heartbeat function for continuous regulation when communication is lost, additional external input control and output control for increased versatility and an extra zone function for bathrooms. Powerful just became stronger in large-scale projects and connected systems!

Here are all new features and functionality in Regio Ardo:

1. Communication heartbeat

The communication heartbeat function enables the controller to continue to regulate locally, also if the communication to the SCADA system is lost. When the function is activated and there is a communication failure, the controller reverts to a preset controller state. When the communication is reestablished, the controller resumes normal operation. The function will activate an alarm when there is a communication failure. This function is appropriate in hotel applications, as a backup, when the controller state is controlled by a master controller or a SCADA-system.

 2. External Input control

External sensor inputs that are not connected to any central loop or room can be read and configured by a SCADA-system. This makes the controller more versatile and helps to create smarter room solutions.

 3. Output control

Now it’s possible to control all the outputs in the controller manually via a SCADA-system or master controller. This makes the controller more versatile and helps to create smarter room solutions when more and other things can be controlled via our smart room controller.

 4. New VAV option, VAV control by min value

VAV control is fixed at the minimum output selected for the different controller states. It is not affected by the heating/cooling control or a high level of CO2.

 5. Possibility to reset the room unit 

Hotel function that resets all the manual adjustments from the room units when the controller changes from occupied to unoccupied.

• To “reset the room” when a guest checks out and another one checks in.
• Setpoint adjustment set to 0 and fan speed set to back to Auto.

Recommendation is not to use this with non-display ED-RU units, since it will display an incorrect indication until there is a new action from the ED-RU.

6. Updated EC fan control settings

• EC fan speed start – The fan will start at this speed when demand is higher than the fan speed demand.
• Fan speed for forced ventilation - The speed at which the fan will run when the forced ventilation is activated.
  
  

 7. Extra zone

The extra zone function is intended for control of the underfloor heating in an extra zone, like a bathroom, in parallel to the controlling of the principal room. This means that the extra zone control runs with the same presence triggers as the principal room (presence sensor, key card switch, remote state, etc), i.e. it always checks the control state of the principal room and acts accordingly.

The following news are included in the software update* for our Heating solutions, based on Exigo Ardo and Exigo Vido 4.2:

- New feature for stable temperature transmission via Modbus! Now we can provide a fall-back function that allows the controller to switch to connected outdoor sensors if communication is lost.

- New possibility to connect a backup sensor in your heating system! One of the inputs for extra temp sensors can now be connected as a backup sensor in the hot water regulation, which secures the supply of hot water.

- Now, there is added support of an additional M-Bus meter to connect an electrical meter. This gives better monitoring of the electrical energy consumption.

- New function for cooling limitation! Now you can easily limit the cooling setpoint in the Heating system which enables a smoother reaction in district cooling, in case of less cooling capacity.

Regin’s heating solutions include clever functions for energy savings in buildings. Exigo can communicate with up to 16 wireless sensors. By averaging you can influence the set control curve in a more efficient way. If you have an M-bus connected energy meter, there are functions for power control. Exigo can monitor and control as many as 10 pumps via Modbus. All configuration is easily made via the new Application tool!

The unit is suitable for all types of buildings and for public environments in particular as operating modes can be changed using presence detection.

Other than controlling heating and cooling, the room thermostat also has a function for control of a 3-speed fan. The user-friendly touch display shows the status of the room and provides access to all parameters. The design of the unit makes it easy to install, while its recessed mounting gives it a discreet appearance.
