Regio Midi is our pre-programmed range of controllers with communication. They are intended for control of heating and cooling in a zone control system. You can use the Midi controllers either as stand-alone units or connected in a system with communication. Simply connect them to bus lines such as Modbus, BACnet or Regin’s own bus system EXOline in order to communicate with a central SCADA system via RS485. You can also easily adapt Regio Midi to a specific application using our Regio tool© software tool.
The Midi range consists of 12 different models of room controllers whose names all begin with RC-C. They can be categorized based on control modes into basic models, fan control models and models for three-point actuator control.
- Basic models
Control analogue or thermal actuators or On/Off actuators with spring return.
- Fan control models (...F models)
Control analogue or thermal actuators or On/Off actuators with spring return, just as the basic models. With the exception of RC-C3DFOC they also feature a fan button/switch and three digital outputs for controlling three-speed fans (fan-coil, etc.). RC-C3DFOC has EC fan control on the analogue output UO3.
- Models for three-point control (...T models)
Have four digital outputs for control of two three-point actuators.
- …3 models
Have an extra output for control of either an On/Off damper or an analogue damper for forced ventilation, an analogue EC fan or an analogue third damper.
Apart from the existing functions for EC fan control and electric heaters, the latest version of Regio Midi also has the following news:
Fan boost function
If there is a great difference between the room setpoint and current room temperature, or if one simply wishes to hear the fan start, a boost function can be activated to make the fan run at top speed for a short start-up time.
Fan kickstart function
When using today’s energy-saving EC fans, there is always a risk the fan will not start due to the low control voltage preventing the fan from exceeding its starting torque. The fan will then remain at a standstill while power still flows through it, which may give rise to damage. To prevent this, a fan kickstart function can be activated. Fan output will then be set to 100 % for a set time (1...10 s) when the fan is set to run at its lowest speed when starting from an off position, thereby guaranteeing the starting torque is exceeded. After the set time has elapsed, the fan will return to its original speed.
Supply air temperature limitation
An analogue input can be configured for use with a supply air temperature limitation sensor. A room controller will then work together with a supply air temperature controller using cascade control, resulting in a calculated supply air temperature maintaining the room temperature setpoint. It is possible to set individual min/max limitation setpoints for heating and cooling, with settable temperature ranges.
Blocking of buttons
To prevent unauthorised users from accessing important functions, Regio controllers have a built-in function for blocking button access.
